Scientists at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) have developed and demonstrated a promising new strategy for the discovery of novel anti-cancer therapies. The TSRI scientists, collaborating with scientists at Pfizer, used their new approach to find small-molecule inhibitors of a protein that is important for the growth of non-small-cell lung cancers (NSCLCs). These cancers represent about 85 percent of lung cancers and are relatively insensitive to drug treatment.

To mark World Heart Day today, the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) has partnered with Novo Nordisk to launch the first-ever multi-country online survey investigating the level of CVD awareness and knowledge among people living with type 2 diabetes. The global survey – Taking Diabetes to Heart – is available in multiple languages until March 2018, and people with type 2 diabetes are encouraged to participate.

The tool is designed to make it easier for consumers, providers, and researchers to access this information.
